Kinesio-Taping

A new approach to athletic taping and pain relief!

Kinesio-Taping or Fascial Movement Taping is a rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process. Unlike conventional athletic tape, it provides support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion.

Kinesio-Taping is supported by research to have positive physiological effects on the skin, lymphatic and circulatory systems, fascia, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints.

When compared to the conventional taping approach, Kinesio-Taping is different. It promotes full range of motion, improves blood flow to the taped region, improves dynamic support, limits atrophy of the musculature and decreases compensatory movements, enhances the restoration of normal kinetic chain function, and is comfortable.

This taping technique is not just for athletes. It can be used to reduce pain, bruising and swelling, as well as provide support sprained ligaments. Used with chiropractic care, it can increase the benefits and longevity of the chiropractic adjustment. It will also continue to provide relief after the patient leaves the office.

This tape is safe for most individuals, including infants, elderly, and pregnant women. Some individuals may have a sensitivity to the tape’s adhesive (which differs by brand of tape). There are ways in which skin irritation can be minimized when applying the tape. Talk with your chiropractor, physical therapist, or other trained professional for more information about Kinesio-Taping today!CrossfitBanner
